Well... if you consider Czech Republic in Eastern Europe than it's not the best anymore... if you consider it Central European than... I haven't seen something better in the region yet. Poland has some nice cities too but there's nothing like it.
There's to much to say and this is not the right topic...

There are more on wiki

In Brazil, a person who is the primary means of support for a Brazilian national cannot be extradited, so embezzlers with attache cases full of the bank's money marry a Brazilian woman, have a child who has Brazilian nationality, and are immune then from being extradited. But there is a handsome reward for anyone who brings them back alive. It's a lucrative business, and safer than smuggling drugs.

In any case, I doubt if I would choose my country of residence based on "stories I always hear"---I'd probably check things out more thoroughly than that.
WRONG, do you know who Silvio Santos is ? He is one of the wealthiest men in Brazil and in the past some of his family members were kidnapped for ransom money.

I don't know if you know Brazil, but you can not present a single image of poverty and to say: THIS IS BRAZIL!
I also can not provide an image of poor people, drug addicts or homeless from NY or LA streets or another American city, or from some European city and to say: THIS USA! THIS IS EUROPE! Don't will be true.
A pic out of "context" means nothing.
Yes, we have poverty in Brazil like all countries around the world, but the whole country is not "mired in poverty" as many people think.
