Hmmm, it seems other English speaking Canadians are much more familiar with British comedy than I, I'm only familiar with fawlty towers (never watched a full episode) and I've heard of Red Dwarf and Coupling but I haven't watched either. Acajack was right in guessing I know Monty Python, it was a big part of my childhood and all of my friends liked it.

[quote=Acajack;22145835]I believe there might be an IHOP in Canada in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

I think the closest IHOP to me is probably 300 km away in Syracuse, New York.

I have been to Syracuse and all over the States in fact, but I have never been to IHOP. Never been to White Castle either, which also seems to be a popular reference marker in American popular culture.

Though I have been to Chuck E. Cheese and Applebee's![/qucte]

There are more than 1500 IHOPs, but only 400-some White Castle restaurants, all in the Midwest, Tennessee and greater New York. There are none in Canada, and many people in the States have never been to a White Castle and know them from pop culture references.

It's sort of like how almost nobody in the States knows what poutine is.

I knew of Tintin in the early 90s, the show came on Nickelodeon and my best friend LOVED it and he also had some of the comic books too. I never really cared for it.
