How is dating culture different in other countries?
Just wondering how the customs, social conventions related to dating differ from that of the US. I'm particularly interested in other developed nations where people have the freedom to marry for love, not so much Islamic countries or countries with arranged marriages.
More places like Europe inc. Russia, Latin America, East Asia (inc. SE Asia), South Asia outside arranged marriages, Turkey. I've heard that there's no 'formal dating culture' in New Zealand and to an extent Australia but I still don't get how it differs that much from what I've seen on TV. I mean what is 'formal dating anyway?' We still go on dates to restaurants or whatever, but it's pretty casual, but it seems these days it's pretty casual in the US too, nothing like more traditional culture.

I'm not gonna go into Indian culture, no no.
I will however talk about my latina women South might be a different continent, but it is still America. I think for the most part, most of the morals and views on dating are pretty similar. A lot really does depend on the person though, just like USA, you can have very liberal or very formal people. With Latin America completely generalized, what you get is something very similar to USA, but probably a little bit more vocal in certain things, and maybe more 'lovey dovey'. I have no clue what the word to use there would be.

Which nations have more liberal attitudes to sex and which have less? I think Brazil and Argentina might be liberal, but Mexico actually quite conservative? I have a feeling Peru and Chile are also more conservative.

You're making it too difficult on me, it is hard enough to generalize as it is, and then to go and generalize each country and compare them is even more impossible haha.
I think you're best off sticking with my original reply hahah, You might think Brasil is more liberal, and I would tend to agree with you, but the Peruvian girl I was with was actually more liberal than the Brasilian girls that I knew. The Colombian girls were quite formal too. It is really just impossible to classify it all and you can't go too much into detail, because in the end your question is a huge generalization that really can't be answered.

That is true. I tend to think of the cultures of the South American nations as similar - all are Catholic, mostly Spanish, a mixture of the socially conservative and liberal. Brazilian women might strut around in tiny thongs on the beach, but that doesn't mean they're necessarily loose or do not having strong family values.

In China, when young people go steady the guy as well as the girl will wear a small simple silver ring on their ring finger.

Has there ever been a recorded instance of sober sex in the UK? I mean ever?
