Yes, I believe so...anyway I wonder what's up with this new concept of "boutique resorts" that seem to sprout everywhere...but imagine me going to Pattaya with My Wife ? she would have a stroke? I've heard Hua Hin is a nice family destination, not far from Bangkok? do you know Hua Hin? is it expensive ?

My hometown is now a "boutique town"...
I guess that "boutique towns" or "boutique resorts" are just plain towns and resorts that overcharge visitors because of some alleged "cultural, architectonical or artistic" idiosincracy.
We are a boutique town because we are the only traditional Mediterranean town 25 miles south of Barcelona. The town did not become another Benidorm or Torremolinos because several Franco generals spent their summers here and they did not want the "populace" invading the town...
The town is a "gay capital", there are almost no gays from this town but there's a gay from every town.
Gay tourists leave money and are very quiet, luckily they scared away "family tourism" that brings a lot of noise (children) and not much money...
As for Thailand, Bangkok is a good destination if you travel with your wife.

I concur, it's a good destination - we were there 2 months ago. But cheap ? not that much!
we had to dwell in a 4 star hotel on Sukhumvit Blvd (cost : 45 $ a night, cheap for a 4 star I agree) because lower end hotels were..let's say...not up to Western standards (besides one needs a swimming pool in Bnagkok to cool off after a day visiting ). Talking of visits : 2500 bahts the 3 hour private tour on the river and Floating Market ? not expensive in Western standards, not that cheap either! the train system is also quite expensive...

Still not as good as when you go solo.

.....

45, that's 32 or 33€ for a 4 Star...very cheap...
You can also try Kuta, Bali. I was at some sort of "pension" (with swimming pool) for 15€ and you can find even cheaper accomodations. Of course, you also have very expensive resorts, but not in Kuta.
In comparison with prices (and bad service) here...hell, is cheaper to go to Bali or Thailand than travel inside Spain.

In South East Asia, It depends on the countries, the city as well. Like in Singapore, is the most expensive, second Malaysia, then Thailand, with Philippines and Indonesia are in the same average. The cheapest and the most undeveloped are Laos,Cambodia,Vietnam and Burma

i'm from Thailand, by the way
