Are those specific countries you are referring to for both visiting and living in?
It depends on what someone is referring to when they are open for places to visit.
There is around 37 to 50 countries I love visiting/the idea of visiting. For other countries that are not those in particular, I may still be open to some of those others for visiting but not enjoying them nearly as much as my top preferred countries. I say around 100 countries total I am at least open for visiting and would not turn down the offer.
There are 195 countries in the world total, so there is 95 countries I am not open to even visit and would not go to because there is so many other places I rather go before, especially based on time/how many years I have left in this life/money/and resources.
If that is your list for countries to live in, there is much better Asian countries than Laos/Cambodia/Malaysia. The best Asian countries that are better, at least based on my opinions, are China/Japan/Thailand/South Korea/Taiwan/Singapore/Vietnam/India. All of those countries make my countries to both visit and live in category.
For Europe, France, UK/England, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, and Switzerland make my countries to both visit and live in category too.
I also would add Denmark, Sweden, Austria, Belgium, Norway, Iceland, and Spain.
Corsica is part of France and not a separate country, but it does feel like it has a separate character. La Reunion is surprisingly part of France, even though it is an island in the Indian Ocean near Southeast Africa and should be a separate country.
I am completely undecided if I would want to live in Czech Republic, Hungary, and Croatia. There are very few other countries I am undecided for living in. However, I know I would enjoy visiting them.
Portugal, Andorra, and Malta does not qualify for me as places to live in. South Africa, and Namibia I am undecided If would want to visit or not.
Australia I could see myself enjoying visiting and living in. Malaysia, Cambodia, Laos, and Mauritius only for visiting.

Yes they are a list of countries under certain circumstances I would like to live in and many I have already visited and in some cases lived.
I have no desire to live in Singapore. I have been there countless times and it is an over prices autocratic state with a number of pretentious and narrow focused folk.
Thailand...The land of Smiles. No thanks not a favourite place of mine after countless visits with consideration to relocation. They don't seem to be able to make their minds up if they want Farang there or not.
Cambodia is very clear pay $500 and get a business visa and good to remain for a year. I know a few folk with different degrees of contentment living there.
I liked the country but the ease of visa requirements made it a choice rather than a deep affection but it could easily be a possibility.
Laos, came close to getting involved in a business venture there. Like the country in the early years of development but may have missed the boat there now.
Malaysia, love the country.Lived there for a year and a half owned a house there and had personal connections there. Also had a good handle on the language.
Rich in diversity. Easy to form meaningful relationships with folk there unlike some neighbouring countries,in my opinion.
Have no interest in South Korea or Japan or Hong Kong only limited in China. Taiwan I have heard good reports and yes would visit perhaps.
Denmark one of your choices I have already lived in. Would not go for another Scandinavian country but would really like to visit Norway and Iceland.
Aspects of Nordic folk lore interest me as well as the Arctic Circle in High Summer of course.
Lived in France for quite some years so Overseas France does hold an interest. I could include New Caledonia in the list as well. Haven't been there or Corsica but have been to La Reunion. In truth probably to small and restrictive but a beautiful island none the less.
Both England and Germany are other homes and have passed some months in Netherlands but many years ago.
Lisbon is one of my favourite cities and adore the North of Portugal. Malta first went to only a few years back and could stay easily but being an island may well get island fever in time and need to escape. Still easy access to Italy.
Australia where I am at present suites the purpose for now but long term unlikely. It is a good enough place to see out the economic meltdown ........
Come to think of it Mauritius would not be a choice to live.....Cape Town though is fab ....

I have a great quality of life in Spain and wouldn´t change it for the world (lived in the US and in Scotland too)
But for me if I wanted to move it would be to:
Live and visit
1) Canada
Would never live in the US again.
Scotland is great but I don´t like the weather.

That is great, inspiring, and a lot of fun that you lived in a lot of different countries all over the world!
What type of career/economic situation etc allowed you to move to so many various countries so easily?
I just lived in one country so far (the USA in Seattle and New York City), but I did visit plenty of other countries. I also have a very international outlook and know plenty of places in the World well.
I would love to visit more countries and live in more countries soon and eventually. I turned 21 years old recently in the past month, so I am kind of young. I am in college right now. Within the next week, I am going to create a thread topic to ask about the process and possibilities to study abroad and live in other countries internationally based on what I am studying in college (Architecture and Environmental Studies) and my future life, social, career, etc. plans.
Did Denmark not go so well for you to not want to live in Scandinavian countries anymore and ever again?
Also, what is the rest of Denmark like outside of Copenhagen? I wondered if all of the qualities/good characteristics/investment in Denmark is entirely concentrated in Copenhagen, or if the rest of the country of Denmark has some or most of what Copenhagen has.
France appeared to go well for you since it was placed number 1 on the top of your list for countries to live in.
It is surprising that France still has so many overseas territories still technically being part of France outside of Europe such as New Caledonia, Polynesia, La Reunion, Guiana, Martinique, and Guadeloupe.
In Australia, do you live right now in Sydney, Melbourne, or somewhere else in that country?
It is still good to see high variation for the countries people enjoy and prefer, including the countries you prefer in Asia such as Malaysia/Laos/Cambodia compared to the other Asian countries I said earlier that I prefer.
There are lots of European countries I enjoy too, including UK/England, Germany, Netherlands, and plenty of other countries in that continent/region. However, France right now is clearly in first place and comes before other European countries for me.
