Look at the U.S. economy, when he took over the White House, there wasn't any deficit at all; but when he left, the U.S. deficit was reaching about the same size as the U.S. economy.
Good job! George Bush...
Wow, I'm just shocked that you would choose President Bush as the world's worst leader ever! That's all I have to say. Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Nero, Chairman Mao, etc.. Again, have you read your history books? Are you that out of touch with reality?

George Bush is the worst! No question about it. The war that Bush decided to fight was based on a faulty intelligence report. Billion of dollars have been spent on this war and more than 4,000 GI's have died for no reason. A war we can't even pay for it no more....except we borrow it from another countries and we continue to fight this "stupid" war until the national debt is about the same size as the U.S. economy!

Good on you! You are entitled to your opinon. The presidency of the last remaining "superpower" has such an affect on the rest of the world. Mistakes get magnified across borders. While I am not 100% sure it is Bush. If the parameter for this thread was a leader within the past 10 years.. I'd be inclined to agree. If the parameter is 10 years ago or older.. there are others worthy of mention (e.g., Hitler, etc. etc).

Term of Services!
I read them before I posted anything right here.
I made my choice and I gave my rationales for my choice.
OP stated, "...Worst leader...regardless of time and country."

Default George Bush - game over

George Bush had the advantage of HINDSIGHT that no previous leader had. He had endless examples of past leaders who made gross mistakes and miscalculations. His hindsight was 20/20. He had the most advanced technology at his disposal. Never before had information been so freely accessible, and in such quantities. He had the capacity to do more good than any previous leader in history. Yet he floundered miserably and threw this country and the entire world into an economic free fall, with his determination to fight an ideological war with guns. He didn't win as the ideology persists and remains resolute. Bush's domestic accomplishments are nil. He failed. His presidency was an utter failure. He's the worst ever.

Here's a man given the greatest tools in history, with the benefit of hindsight unmatched by any previous leader, with the greatest capacity EVER to do more good than harm, and he chose to take this country back to the Dark Ages.

That doesn't mean jack. The reality is that past leaders are pretty well read, even by modern day standards.

Adolf Hitler, Josef Stalin, were very well read people and understood their place in history.

Adolf Hitler would have been good to have been born during the Roman era or a different time or culture. Back then people were just outright barbaric in terms of morality. It was accepted practice to destroy whole towns and cities.
