Historians would generally agree that, although he was stark-raving mad, Hitler was not a bad leader. He was just a bad man.

? Obviously no one is claiming Bush is good, but he's not as bad as Hitler or Stalin, which some are claiming on this thread.

For all the boobs that are actually using Bush's name in the same sentence or thread as Pol Pot, Hitler, Musolini, Idi Amin, and other violent men who killed in some cases millions is ludicrous. The United States should close shop, build a 100 foot wall around the entire country and let the rest of the world have at it. No more aid, no more assistance, no more nothing. We should stop being the world's policeman and become isolationists. No more immigration.....I don't care if you are Irish, Italian, Mexican, Canadian, Australian, South African, Sudanese, Libyan, Palestinian....no more...we have more than enough people in this country as is. The biggest and best step towards achieving this goal would be to toss the United Nations out of New York City and bid them farewell and best of luck. I'm sure I'll get criticized for saying what I have said but I remember that freedom of speech is only good if you like what the other person is saying. Otherwise you are not allowed to have an opinion.

For the world's worst leader ever it would have to be Hitler - his only serious competition would be Mao. Stalin would be third.
Currently: Kim Jong Il, even more than Mugabe.

Saparmurat Niyazov - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
read about him. He did some very bad things. Not cruel (although he cut off the elderly from their pensions) but unusual. I mean cult-state stuff.

Of course it does. Its a responsibility for a World-leader to take care for youre OWN population. I agree, president Bush was pretty worse But didn't kill his own people and was not corrupt as hell

Nicolae Ceausescu of Romania was very horrible. He nearly starved his own country to death and killed many people. Under Ceausescu, people may have had money, but the people couldn't buy food because there was hardly any in supply. He published statistics portraying good harvests and yet Romania was on the edge of starvation. The irony was that his own dog was being fed imported beef from Argentina. He made the nation go through freezing winters without gas. Some people died from the cold, especially babies. If you had a problem with him, he would have you killed or incarcerated. He had the Securitate to make sure of that. He tore down half of Bucharest to make room for Communist-styleb buildings(and Bucharest was known as the Little Paris of Eastern Europe for its boulevards, architecture, and bohemian lifestyle. Ceausescu nearly ruined the city). People were starving and freezing. What happened? In Timisoara, he was giving a speech and people started booing and jeering at him. He ordered the army to open fire on everyone. One problem: People who live on the edge of death aren't going to care if you open fire on them. To some of them it is just a quicker way to die. It was a matter of "dying slow from freezing and starving" or "dying fast from getting shot." After a few days, the army gave up and Ceausescu lost all of his power. He was executed on Christmas Day 1989. Ceausescu was a horrible leader and a horrible person. He lied to his country, stole from his country. He was basically Stalin on a smaller scale.
