Thailand (Nov-Dec-Jan-Feb-Mar-Apr)
Netherlands (May-June-July-Aug-Sep-Oct)
Having 1 million dollars is Thailand is like having 5 million in the US.

Id stay in Australia, quit my job and go back to university, mid you $950,000 thousand aussie dollars wont buy you much of a lifestyle hear, id be comfortable without being rich.
If i had to go overseas, malaysia would be the best pick I think, you can easily get to the rest fo SE asia, and it's also not all that far from my family and my wifes family in South Korea.

i wouldn't live anywhere, same as now. why tie yourself down to one place? especially if you have the means to go where ever you what whenever you want?
i figure US$1 million would last me around 20 years. i'd prolly be spending somewhere in the neighborhood of 50-60k/yr. with that type of money i would prolly be spending a lot more time in places like china and a lot less time in countries like cambodia.
the annual rotation might look something like
2 months thailand
2 months philippines
3 months china/hk/macau
1 month asia misc
2 months mexico (visiting family, etc)
2 months latin america misc

If I was much older and closer to retirement, I'd take an early retirement, settle in Panama with a pensionado visa, buy a yacht, and travel via the sea!

Please tell me this was just a mistake. Also, compared to other cities in Colombia Bogota is not as nice as Medellin, Cali, Pereira, Manizales, etc.

Right, it would be a very short stay indeed. Then I'd take the financial pressure off a bit and move elsewhere. Always wise to have a backup plan.
I am going to assume the OP doesn't consider the other dimensions of a major move relevant for this question. I brought up the idea of language barriers, but assuming that its not important in this context, I don't imagine ease of immigration [or lack thereof] is an issue either.
That said, I'd give Japan a shot too but I might be out of money even faster than London!
