Sounds like hell to me. 12-14 hours Monday to Friday and 2 weeks vacation but I guess it makes sense if you are well paid (+$150,000 per year per person).

The American corporate culture does not sound very appealing to me. Too much hierarchy, long hours with no overtime pay and low job security.

Having a "large" house (+250 m² / 2,700 ft²) in a sleepy suburb outside a boring metro is not my kind of dream. Neither is driving a leased Camry.

Cities - EU. I love European cities because of the mixture of old and new. Closest US cities that are similar are places in the Southwest USA (San Antonio, Tucson, Santa Fe). Although, Montreal has a bit itself. But North American history doesn't go back as far as Europe's, so it's not much of a contest.

Weather - I love the weather in the Mediterranean. North America has a more varied perhaps - but I hate humidity. Slight edge to EU.

People - People are people no matter what culture or language. Tie

Sports - I love the NFL, but I also like soccer. This really isn't a big deal for me as I never go to a stadium to watch a game live. Tie.

Economy - I think North America has this one.

Scenery - Slightest of edge to North America, only because of the tropics of Southern Florida. I don't count European commonwealth islands as they are not in Europe.

Education - EU
Nightlife - EU
Other - I would prefer to live in the US. I own firearms and enjoy them. I like my truck and the cheaper gas. But, I would love to visit Europe every year and stay for at least a month

Yes, exactly. We hope to move into the city sooner rather later. We're sick of the boring 'burbs.

Yes, I guess that most Europeans would rather live in some third world country than in the U.S, all things equal.

Criteria:

Cities - EU. Most Canadian cities are great but i'm not a fan of any U.S. city at all. Only exceptions are NYC, San Francisco, Chicago and Boston.

Weather - tie. For a Canadian, the weather doesn't play a role.

People - hmm not sure. tie.

Sports - EU because i like soccer/football. Ice hockey is as popular in Eastern/Central Europe as in Canada.

Economy - Northern EU and Northern States/Canada. The South on both continents sucks economically.

Scenery - tie.

Education - As other users already have mentioned, it has to be:
primary&secondary education-EU
tertiary education-North America

Nightlife - Europe has Berlin, Barcelona, Amsterdam, London etc. NYC is one of the only places in NA with great and extraordinary nightlife. EU.

Just to clarify, when mentioning North America we're including Canada and Mexico right?
