I'd rather visit Paris.
Better architecture (old and new), more culture, better public transportation and they actually have a clever invention called "freeways", unlike London, where the roads are stuck in the 18th century. Go to Paris and experience real culture.

I've been to both cities twice and I prefer London hands down. Although, it was the single most expensive place I've ever been in my life!

Good point.
I take advantage of this every time I visit.
The more I think about it, comparing the two is really difficult and probably not really worth it.
To me, they both have pros and cons and I always enjoy visiting each city.

By the way, I've been on freeways in both London and Paris. Paris has the peripherique interieur and exterieur, which circle the city. As far as public transportation goes, I'd say London has a cleaner subway system than Paris, though both put NYC's to shame.

Hi Anarchy
You hate UK so i would say you are biased. Both are great cities, completely different, both full of fantastic arts and culture. You can never get bored, there is always loads to do. Great shopping in both

Of course London and Paris are different. That's the point of the poll, isn't it?
London's a nice place. But I definitely prefer Paris. What's the point in going to a major European city if it's just going to remind me of the US? Paris has more and larger museums, grand boulevards, more beautiful architecture, more impressive monuments, fewer Starbucks, and infinitely better food.
Having said that, I wouldn't turn down a free trip to London, either.

I've never really been interested in Europe, period (yeah I'm probably alone on that one. I'd take Australia or Africa anyday over Europe). But if I had to pick one to visit first, I'd probably choose London. Although Paris has very interesting architecture, I think I'd fit in better in London.

Yes you are right about me hating the UK but I didn't choose Paris because I hate the UK actually I don't mind London as a place to visit for a couple of days but I wouldn't want to live in either London or Paris.
Here is a couple of reasons why I chose Paris over London, the people are friendlier and more classy, cleaner much more tidy, much much better to drive around and more fun less stressful, better architecture, cost of Paris isnt cheap but compared to London it is .......

Hi Anarchy
Agreed!
Lived in London, great when u single, although you need to be on a good salary.
Paris visited once and although i loved the city and the shopping, I didnt really like the parisians, they are not friendly to struggling french speakers wheareas i think londoners are very tolerant and welcoming to tourists
When are you going to leave the UK? Any plans?
