I have mainly heard negative things about the indigenous and mestizos, but from Blacks I have heard that they are very rude and overly proud of the Europeanness, to the point of want to expunge the "blacks." I also know that many phrases in Argentina put blacks in a negative light, or comes from a negative term.
But yes, simply due to proximity, no one knows Argentine racism/ethnocentrism like Bolivians or Uruguayans.
Edit: I know this is not very PC to say,but I really, REALLY don't mind if a hot Argentino just wants a fun night "con un negro." No problems AT ALL..!

I know Argentinians have a reputation for being racist snobs, but I have know idea where that came from because they aren't. In the 5 months I was there, (I'm black btw) I had one bad experience, but other than that, the people were VERY warm and friendly. They are also very curious. There are no black people there, so I was obviously a foreigner. Random people would stop me on the street all the time to ask me where I'm from. Also, a few Argentinians have told me that black women are seen as exotic there. I got hit on a lot.

Panama is also a good one. There are many Afro-Panamanians so you'd blend right in (except for the language barrier). My mom works with a Panamanian woman and from what I hear it's a great country! Panama city is modern and impressive. Plus it offers everything costa rica does but it's cheaper (from what I've read). You can always stay in some smaller town and see the jungles, etc. you should take me with haha

Costa Rica is cheaper than Panama, but Panama is so, SO much more exciting! THe language barrier is obvious, but their accent is also difficult to get a hold of. Very short, fast, and takes the most shortcuts it can in order to get the point across, not unlike Dominican Spanish.

Oh, I've heard costa rica is cheaper but I've never been to either so you're probably right. Panamanians speak like Caribbean Hispanics (I'm Cuban), and I think we (Cubans, Panamanians, and Dominicans) all speak like that. Jw, are you Dominican?

Black woman here and I went to Sydney, Australia. Customs was a b..ch to get through cause they are grilling you on every little thing. Some of the people were nice; others ignored me. Some were rude like this one lady when I asked for directions to the blue mountain, she acted like she didn't hear me. I had to repeat myself and loudly!
Australian children kept staring at me esp this little girl on the plane. The flight attendant on virgin blue definitely had an attitude when I was leaving the plane, I told her thanks for the inflight experience you racist cow. She didn't like that.
I'm going back next year.

The place doesn't seem like it necessarily WANTS you back! Why return and give them your money?

Nope! My mom's Jamaican, and when I was younger I lived in Miami (now New York). I also lived in Jamaica for a time.
The Caribbean is nothing new to me!
And even with all my "training" in Miami and New York, the way Panamanians talk is VERY cut-cornered, fast, and the kind of accent where you kinda have to be a native speaker to fully "get", not unlike Black English in the US.
