Thanks for the videos, Victoria. The first one was about reading the genome for potential diseases. It said Icelanders and people living in the north of Russia had genetic mutations that made them immune to AIDS, that was interesting. It also reassured the Russian public that Russians had no genetic predetermination toward alcoholism (lol!) In any case, Russian scientists are now able to decipher the entire genome, something that will help people determine what diseases they have a predisposition toward, and how to avoid triggering the factors that will activate those genes. So it's an important breakthrough for healthcare in Russia.
The 1000 years is also fascinating. I wish it could be enlarged, to get a closer view.
The Russian genetic history is mainly tied up with the Scythians, so a high percentage of the heritage is Indo-Iranian.

The southern Urals were a crossroads for Scythians and their predecessors to migrate into Asia and back. They would trade with Ugrian tribes on the northern edge of that region. I think at one time there were Khazars nearby, too. Those are Scythian kurgans (burial mounds) they show in the first film aren't they, Victoria? The Khakass people in the Altai say there were astronomical observatories built by the same people as built Arkaim, after they migrated into the Altai. The (proto-Aryan) steppe nomads were the first people to populate the Altai after the last Ice Age. Asiatic people moved in from the east much later.
Great vidiki (videos), thanks.
