Whether you visited or lived what cities do you find to be the most unique?
In terms of North American cities Montreal is a usual candidate that comes up for its bilingual population, love of food, French cuisine (and some out there Montreal bagels, Poutine), and top of the line night life, all along with the architecture of Viex-Montreal, and you have a distinctly European like destination in North America. Not to mention it's affordable bringing the young and the beautiful. It's got a bohemian vibe to it, but at the same time it's quite sophisticated as well as multicultural.
The world is a huge place and I look forward to hearing your choices/responses from every continent, thanks for participating!

In the USA on the larger scale, I'd say San Fran, NYC, and New Orleans are pretty unique.
Internationally, Rome is pretty unique, as well as Venice due to design. Rio with the mountains and beaches on top of each other is fairly unique...you know I realize I am going on physical characteristics so far, but I will stop at that, knowing I missed a ton.

Istanbul, Turkey. Only city in two continents, used to be a Christian city, then a Muslim city, now the capital of a 'secular' Turkey. Fascinating blend of architecture from pre-Roman to modern.
