come on people do we really need to embed 50 frickin massive photos in this thread?!?!? It took five minutes to load the stupid page. Talk about bad nettiquette.

That said, there were some nice pics in here. City Police, I was taking NYC's three skylines into account. It's really just Midtown and Downtown though, Brooklyn is nice but doesn't add all that much to those two, which can blend together in some pictures. And NYC might be islands (+ landfill), but they are about as unnattractive as islands can be. I'm sure Manhattan was a beautiful place 300+ years ago. Not so today.

and yes the WTC is ugly, "american icon" or no. No creativity and imagination, just brute force and power. So I suppose if you think those things are "beautiful" than I guess the WTC is for you.

and yes, Vancouver is nice. The best medium city skyline in the world, IMO. I think there are barely 2 million people in the metro.

They are not unattractive. And those buildings were built in the 1970s. Show me crazy buildings near that height during that time and then we can talk. It was an American Icon.

The Sears Tower (1973) and John Hancock Center (1969) in Chicago - they were black and were not simply boxes. Those two buildings averaged are about the same height as the former World Trade Center twin towers.

Sears Tower was the world's tallest building from 1974 to 1998.

height alone doesn't make a building attractive. Ever hear of the Ryugyong Hotel in Pyongyang? Actually that's a bad example. I think that hotel is pretty cool. But still, it's ugly. So were the twin towers. I'm not saying they weren't impressive, or that they didn't have a place in the NYC skyline. I'm not even saying they weren't kind of cool. But they were ugly. Or maybe sterile is the better word.

I would say Sao Paulo, it's the coolest and it's probably the city with the most skyscrapers.

Some pictures of the skyline:

High-rise Building Statistics for São Paulo:

4,615 completed

Nice pictures.
But I think i'm going for what Xyrus said, because Manhattan is like the size of 1/3 of Sao Paulo's skyscraper space.
