Are you out of your mind! NYC has always and will always, unless god forbid another disaster happens, have the best skyline! HK is beautiful and so is Chicago, however no city compares to the historic and modern mix of NY. Plus other factors come to play, such as the fact that HK is dirty as hell, while although not well known, NY is a very clean city, infact, it is the "greenest BIG city in the world." No offense, I think Chicago is nice and all but Chicago isnt even as nice as some European cities. NYC was just destined to be a great city and thats that. Its surrounded by water, its right on the coast, its natural environment is even gorgeous. Next time you go ask a real new yorker to take you around b/c many tourist go to the same places in Manhattan and never venture out into the other boroughs such as Brooklyn and Queens and Staten Island where views of the skyline are the best! Hollywood and haters are so obsessed with NYC that they always like to destroy it. Bottom line NYC looks the best and thats not an opinion that just OBVIOUS.

Dubai will look amazing however it has no history. By the time Dubai has its glory NEW YORK will have already stolen it away. Right now NY has at least one hundred high rises and skyscrapers being constructed because unlike the rest of the country NY is still booming. NY is growing faster than Dubai ever will ( even though Dubai is speeding) and Dubai can Never catch up. PLus Dubai is NOT surrounded by water on all sides, Dubai has no history, Dubai does not have 18 beautiful bridges like NY does which adds to the skyline! No city has a spirit of like that of NY.

Lived in NYC most of my life and loved it. But why is it that we Americans have such massive denial about life's basic lesson: there is no always.
NYC has an impressive man-made skyline, but those of other cities are beautiful too. But different.
The best "skyline" is the Himalayas. And it will last the longest.

I'd pick Paris, but it isn't on the list.
The assumption given the alternatives, however, seems to be that skyline = skyscrapers.

Geez, the thread that just won't die a graceful death and disappear.
Look, folks, there really isn't a definitive answer to such a general question.......there's only the opportunity for argument and dissension.
Let's move on to something more specific, helpful, and productive.
