The most important thing for Slovenia in this very moment is to be in the "First Division" of EU coutries with France and Germany. But how I explaind the feeling towards Germany are deeper than that.

Well, I don't uderstand why you like Germany so much and it's not the case (?) for Austria ? maybe you would like the nortern side of the Karawanken mountains to belong to Slovenia (surely did in the past...)

* I think that 75% of the World population does not like USA (the government) but we all drink Coca Cola and use IPhones and we are all watching the stupid Hollywood movies [/quote]

andrejus; So, you stated all Slovenia's drink Coca-cola, use IPhones, and everyone watches stupid Hollywood movies. SWEET, that's great for American business. Now my question to you if all Slovinia's are watching stupid Hollywood Movies, are you all such prisoners that you have no control over the television channel??? Is there absolutely nothing else showing on your television screen??

Yes that is good for the american business and it is OK!

You have to admit that in the last years 95% of Hooliwood production is bad. Perhaps one or two movies per year is good or very good! On other hand the production of Discovery, NG and History is very good.

on the other hand, I believe (maybe wrongly) that Slovenians don't like the Serbs, the Russians and even the Austrians, I wonder which country you Slovenians really feel friendly to ?
I'm confused by this statement, I assume you know Yugoslavia collapsed in '91.

My son is stationed in Korea near the DMZ. He has been very well treated by the Korean population locally, in fact he was even awarded a "key to the city" by a local mayor for his work with Korean school kids in an after school program.

They have joint training exercises with the South Korean military. In fact, my son's roommate is a South Korean soldier. There are many in his dorm. They get along really well with the US soldiers.

I can only go by what he tells me, but he reports absolutely NO problems - except with young Korean guys in bars, if they see a US soldier dating a Korean girl. But I'd say that's not indicative of the entire population!

Having lived in Germany for several years and having spent a lot of time in Austria, I can tell you that my experience has been that Austrians are not as friendly, GENERALLY SPEAKING, as Germans. Their government also doesn't seem as well run. Their highways are not as well maintained, and you will see more litter in Austria than you do in Germany as well. The people are MUCH colder in my experience. Germans tend to be brusque and assertive, but not unfriendly.

I much prefer Germany to Austria. But hey, that's just me.

That's an old myth. The contemporary American culture itself freaks out people all over the world.
It's not just the government - this is something Americans kid themselves with.

IT IS ALL OF US - the way we live, who we become when we come into this country that breeds human alienation, mental isolation, over-consumption, self-absorption and competition at any cost (and please do not bring up "volunteering" as a counter-argument to my "self-absorption" argument).

I am a naturalized American and I have become, in many ways, what I dreaded I would become.
There is no other way once you get here.
