Paris is an amazing world class city in every way and is a "must see" city. Montreal is worth the money for a vacation to see the amazing parks, urbanity, history, food, culture, etc. However, to me New Orleans is an absolute disaster of a city and is not worth the money for a visit. In New Orleans crime is rampant, visitors can still see the damage done by Hurricane Katrina, awful food and I have not even mentioned the experience of dealing with the locals in Louisiana.

To live, Montreal wins hands down. Where else in can you leave work in a 50-story tower and then take a horse and carriage through a cobblestone street for supper in an authentic 400-year old French bistro?

I've been to all three cities, and adore them all. Paris is stunning, seductive and inspiring, but also loud, rude and gigantic. New Orleans is enchanting, exciting and fun as hell. But also dirty and dangerous.

I love the European charm and flare; the laid-back attitude, the cobblestone streets, the ancient architecture and joie de vivre attitude. But I also love the convenience and opportunity of a large North American city. I love the open-mindedness, the progressive mentality, the prospects for earning.

That's why Montreal is my #1 choice. Its large AND small. It's European AND American. There are ancient cobblestone streets as well as cosmopolitan boulevards and chic avenues. It has all the flavour and charm of Europe WITH all the attractiveness of North America. It has AMAZING music, INCREDIBLE food, UNBEATABLE shopping. It is a forward-thinking city, but charts its own course. Nobody follows trends in Montreal. You will not see any Kim Kardashian clones or Nicole Ritchie lookalikes in these parts, nor will you overhear anybody talking about the latest episode of whatever bull**** reality show the rest of North America is obsessed with. Montreal is a gem.

And it is cold as hell.

I really enjoyed my time in Montreal, although it was quite cold in late December...you get used to it though. Vieux Montreal (Old Montreal) is absolutely beautiful. I recommend a cafe called Stash Cafe in the old downtown. DELICIOUS Polish food there.

Paris for the food and wine
New Orleans for getting falldownslobbering drunk
Montreal for the beautiful women of all ethnicities!
