Northern Europe: Atlanta is known for the Olympics. I think that is pretty much it.

It isn't personal. There are plenty of cities which are as uninteresting as Atlanta. In fact, there are relatively few cities that are interesting.

What do you mean by that? Do adults like Atlanta no matter what?
Kindly explain the "adult" thing.

An adult can criticize a city while leaving out the petty attacks.

Europeans see Atlanta as an endless urban sprawl of bland, boring suburbs.
Period.
Even the smallest town in Greece has more street life than the entire Sprawlanta.

Same with Europeans: but I would also add San Diego, Boston, Chicago and Seattle.
Anyway, Las Vegas?
Europeans don't see the trashy Las Vegas as a place to relocate, but as a theme park for adults: funny... yes... just for two/three days.

Yes, this is how it works - and I am an adult.
Er... sorry, it isn't.
I don't love Atlanta because it doesn't offer enough streetlife and interesting architecture: but Sicily doesn't offer a great quality of life either.
Sicily's cities look amazing in the postcards, but in real life they are painfully disappointing... in fact their urban standards are closer to Southern America cities such as Rio, Sao Paulo and Mexico City: sorry, but Palermo, Messina and Catania are ugly concrete jungles.
Sicily may be nice for a vacation, but that's all: in fact the young sicilians are still moving to Northern Italy to find job opportunities and higher quality of life.
Don't forget that Sicily is the poorest region in Europe, and is going bankrupt as Greece... and even if you were rich, quality of life wouldn't be great.

I had hardly ever heard of Atlanta before I started going on city data since I was too young to remember the Olympics. I knew Atlanta for the Peachtree Television network and CNN, so I was pretty shocked to hear about how many people lived in Atlanta! From how little I'd heard about it, I'd always sort of assumed it was a much smaller city like Cincinnati or Sacramento. It definitely punches below its weight internationally.
