Do you mean like Tenerife? If so they are nothing alike. I think that Mallorca is much more beautiful and diverse - like a tropical island

I spent most of my childhood there, have some great memories - its nothing like the mainland but I love it here too because of the diversity.

A London townhouse for the arts, museums, theatre, shopping and scenery
A villa somewhere like Cyprus on the coast for swimming and relaxing and forgetting about the world

Yes, I was surprised at that because I wouldn't really consider spain a Tropical country like the bahamas for example.

I wouldn't expect any tropical-like in Spain either. Considering that Madrid and Mallorca are farther north than Washington, DC. But the mediterranean creates a weird climate, from an American perspective anyway.

Where I live in Axarquia we have a sub tropical climate but it doesn't look tropical apart from the avocado and mango plantations dotted around this location and the famous avocado route which is a nice drive.

Mallorca is very tropical to me (the 200 beaches). Spain is a very diverse country with many different types of geography, cultures, cuisine and climates. I love Andalucía it's the most popular and diverse region and 2nd largest (the size of a small country) and like a different country too.

Yes I guess it is. I never realized that anywhere in Europe would have a tropical climate. Cyrpus is probably the closest to that.

We're renowned for having the best climate in Europe. 2 hours drive towards Jaén and Córdoba and it's very dry, arid climate we have a desert in this region too. A 40 minute drive south will take you to the city of Málaga which is Mediterranean it's really interesting. It's also very green here too.

I think southern Spain would be my own personal hell, weather-wise, in Europe. Far too hot, far too dry and far too sunny.

Spain isn't as attractive as a tropical country either IMO. Northern Spain is very beautiful though, aka Green Spain.

I agree I'd love the heat but I don't like the Spanish landscape it's very red.
