The southernmost point in Poland is closer to Hungary than it is to the Czech Republic despite the fact that Poland shares part of its southern border with the Czech Republic and has no border with Hungary.

Most Southern point of Burma is closer to to the capitals of Thailand/Laos/Cambodia/Malaysia plus Saigon and Singapore than its own capital.

Most Northern point of Burma is closer to the capitals of Bangladesh and Bhutan plus the biggest cities (Chengdu, Chonqing, Kunming, Guiyang) of 4 Chinese provinces (Sichuan, Chonqing, Yunnan, Guizhou) than its own capital.

From most Northern point of Burma to the most Southern point = same distance Paris-Kiev, Hamburg-Athens, Gibraltar-Dortmund.
