Is Munich the place to be for young, creative, ambitious people?

Yes.
Munich is an exciting, prosperous and thriving city. Lots of fun and culture. Whatever you seek, its there. And its convenient to the Alps with great skiing and hiking.
The people can be a bit snooty and bossy but there are plenty of cool people as well. Great place if you like beer.
Viel Spass.

1. Munich is not a state, it's a city. And it has one of the nicest weather you can find in Germany.
2. You can never say that ALL the people are like this or that. E.g. looking at your comment I could say that ALL young German boys speak some terrible English. But that's simply not true.
3. The German economy is rather good right now. The Bavarian economy has been thriving since many many years, e.g. the unemployment rate within Bavaria is 4.8% and in Upper Bavaria 4.3%. (Btw, the county I'm living in - north of Munich - has an unemployment rate of 2.8%.) There's no reason to be pessimistic about the future.
So I suggest you collect some information about Germany's economy and post some more reasonable comments here in the future.

Going to Muenchen this upcoming March, and can't wait! I think its the city that most Americans think of when they think of Germany, being in the US zone after WWII and such.
Any tips on can't miss sights that travel guides might not have listed??

Munich is a great city with a few quirks you should be aware of (in case you are moving there):
-Bavarians are like Texans - loud and proud. This also means they can be incredibly fun or downright snotty, you just never know.
-The sidewalks roll up around midnight - unless you know where to go.
-Bavarians tend to have their own tight little circle of friends which are extremely hard to break in with (it can take years). That having been said, once you're in - you're in for life.
-Its a wealthy city filled with young people whose Mommies and Daddies spoil them rotten. Thus, you'll meet lots of boorish, self important kids who have never worked a day in their life.
-The city attracts lots of ambitious people from all over Germany (and the world). The most fascinating people you'll meet there are often not native Muencheners but people from Karlsruhe, Paderborn, Vienna, Peru, Delhi, etc.
For the young, creative, and ambitious - I suggest London, New York, Seattle, or Berlin. I love Munich but it does not have the same energy level as the places I just listed. Its a bit more on the chilled side. If that is your thing, go for it.

Although IMO most of your other statements are a little bit too generalized, I totally agree with you on this one. Munich is a nice (and very safe) place to live, but it does not really embrace diversity and therefore isn't as full of positive and exciting energy as some other cities in Germany (Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne and others). Munich's economy is by far the best among these cities, but its mentality is .... well, it's an "island" ruled by Social Democrats - in the middle of Bavaria with its 60 years of very conservative CSU government.
To the OP: don't forget - you have to speak German to have a chance to work here. But even if your German is rather good, you might not understand the Bavarian accent. I'm from Hamburg, live in Bavaria since 1989 and still have problems to understand some of the "real Bavarians".

You seem to have alot of insight, and you've mentioned Cologne. What can you tell us about the North Rhine-Westphalia area? Or maybe that's a question for a separate thread.

Well - I'm German and live in Germany, so having some insight isn't a big deal. But I've never lived in North Rhine Westphalia. I only mentioned Cologne because I often heard and read that it is a vibrant city with lots of media people, culture and night life. To get some firsthand information you should ask those who actually live(d) there.
Good luck, Connie
