If the world became one country, it would be because it was taken over by force or guile by one of the previous national states, and that state's capital would become the capital of the world. Just as Rome was the capital of the Roman Empire and London was the capital of the British Empire. The British didn't say "Let's see now, where should we put the capital of our empire where the sun never sets? Capetown? Sydney? Bombay?

Assuming the world becomes a great big USA (the current leading contender), Washington would be the capital.

Or let's say it's China. What will the capital be called then? It has been Pekin, Peking, Beiping, Beijing -- what next?

Obviously either London or NYC.

If its like important or personal for like most people in the world than Jerusalem might be it.

I think those who've conducted financially substantive business around the world, from Singapore, to Hong Kong, to Rio and Dubai would validly conclude that it's London.

I suggest creating a circular and beautiful island in the middle of the Atlantic. Filled with canals, majestic palaces and gardens for the world bureaucracy to enjoy.

Why, didn't occur to me but...That could be an idea for a name, yes. That will definitely settle any rivalries between the big cities, don't you think?

I forgot which post, but earlier I proposed that it should be a city built from scratch on the Azores Islands or some other neutral setting. Also there are conspiracies that if Atlantis ever did exist it was in the Azores.

If the TPP, TTIP, and TISA treaties get ratified then the de facto capital of the world will in fact be the Boston/NYC./Washington triangle. Bow to your new masters at Goldman Sachs, Monsanto, and the board members of the Fortune 500, sheeple.

I voted London because it's just more cosmopolitan and the british are better educated overall.

New York City by far, with london a far away runner up. NYC is the largest city in the largest country in the world. Once the world becomes one country, USA would probably be the breadwinner of the country. NYC has a higher GDP than London as of 2014. New York City is also currently the headquarters of the UN. Now I understand that the UN wouldn't be relevant in this new society but something would merge of the UN that would help the integration of different people of the world. That's my 2 cents.
