Never been to Bermuda or the Bahamas. I was pretty close to booking a trip to one of them, but a lightbulb went on for me the other day: "Aren't these two countries in the news a lot lately, for being tax havens for the filthy rich?? Something about the Panama Papers and the Paradise Papers........"
So I did a few minutes research, and yep: they are pretty scummy places. I won't support that with MY vacation money.
So bye, bye vacation to one of these places.

Hello, somewhere else.

(Oh, by the way: been to Oahu, Kauai, Barbados, Dominican Republic, the Keys, and Tybee.)

I'm not even going to count the east coasts barrier islands, incl the FL Keys, but some noteworthy ones would be the

the Turks and Caicos, incl Grand Turk, S. Caicos and Provo

Curacao and Aruba

Dominican Republic

Jamaica

Pretty much all of the Bahamas out islands including the uninhabited ones way south

The San Blas in Panama's Caribbean

Roatan (Honduras)

San Andres (Colombia)

Los Perales (sp?) (Panama Pacific side)

Isla Mujeras (Mexico)

Love the Caribbean and can't wait till I can go back. I also like the Bahamas out islands, basically all the non-touristy places as I can't do the all inclusive vacation package kind of places. My island hopping has been by boat for either fishing or fuel stops so a lot of stops wouldn't even register with the tourist crowd.

Oh yeah I totally forgot Montréal the city proper is an island surrounded by the river. Add to my list as well.

Also I'm interested in a small city called "Taormina" in Sicilia.
