The monarchy has no democratic legitimacy, so should not receive the peoples tax payer money.
You're repeating this all the time, but do you realize that in Eeurope there are some kings in power because they were approved by its citizens via a referendum?
You're right in saying that there was never a vote for the monarchy, when the monarchy for the Kingdom of Great Britain was formed (over 300 years ago, I may add, not many things were consulted with the public back then, but many things are the same regardless) - but you are incorrect in saying that the monarchy has no democratic legitimacy. People have been firmly supportive of the monarchy for as long as anyone can remember. While our faith in political institutions continues to decline, support for the monarchy is at record high levels, because they are the only institution that is not riddled with scandal and corruption. The Queen herself has publicly stated that she will step down if the majority want her to leave.
If a vote were to be held tomorrow, the resounding result would be to retain the monarchy. There is absolutely no initiative amongst the people of the United Kingdom to abolish the monarchy, it is here to stay and that is the will of the people. No two ways about it. Nobody here would ever support having a politician as the Head of State, totally unrivaled in power, free to do whatever.

Indeed. Belgium was another country that held a vote on the monarchy in the 1950s, and they are still here today.
I feel sorry for the poor man/woman working at the US Immigration Department having to check applications of the few applicants who want to come to this hated land. Especially when they have to scrutinize question 27a - Why do you hate America?

Which ones? Is it just one country?
Fact is monarchy is still wrong even via a referendum, because the majority sometimes gets it wrong. For example, if slavery had been voted on in the past, it probably would've been supported by the majority.
What is wrong is wrong, and monarchy is obviously wrong.

In the UKs case, there was never a vote so there is no democratic legitimacy.
In the case of Belgium, the monarchy still has no democratic legitimacy because a monarchy in its essence is not democratic. And, as I've side before, the majority sometimes gets things wrong, as shown by history.

If that is what you actually believe, then there is zero point in discussing this subject with you. Your mind is made up, and clearly was prior to this entire debate. Not to worry though, even though your mindset is shockingly similar to Stalin, I will concede that you are entitled to that opinion.

Once again, like slavery, you cannot debate monarchy. Monarchy is wrong. Period.
What have we been doing for the past few pages, then? You being right and everyone else being wrong?
Heed your own advice - we will happily continue with our monarchy, whether you believe it is right or wrong is possibly the most irrelevant thing ever. It is none of your business.

That doesn't make sense ...How am I like stalin if I oppose an institution (monarchy) that is identical to Stalin's dictatorship institution?
In actuality, you agree with Stalin because Stalin would support an unelected head of state who holds office for an endles term, because he was one of them.
