I don't know what it is, it's incredibly hard for me to dislike any place. I see something worthwhile everywhere, I'm weird, I'm aware of that.

So here's my challenge City-Data people. Do you think you could effectively list 50 cities in the world that you're fond of (in order)? If you cant, see how far you can go with it before it comes to a straight stop.

I'll go first, please note- at times it tends to fluctuate (a city can rise or drop in the future). Here's what I'm feeling right now.

01. New York
02. London
03. Seoul
04. Osaka
05. Hong Kong
06. Melbourne
07. Washington DC
08. Chicago
09. Singapore
10. Tokyo
11. Istanbul
12. Nagoya
13. Moscow
14. Bangkok
15. Tel Aviv
16. Dubai
17. Toronto
18. Frankfurt
19. Vancouver
20. Barcelona
21. Miami
22. Manchester
23. Tucson
24. Shanghai
25. Mumbai
26. Izmir (TIE)
27. Taipei (TIE)
28. Amsterdam
(Paris)
29. San Francisco
30. Boston
31. Seattle
32. Denver
33. Berlin (TIE)
34. Rhine-Ruhr (TIE)
35. Sydney (TIE)
36. Hamburg (TIE)
37. San Diego
38. Valencia (TIE)
39. Quebec City (TIE)
40. Zurich
41. Nice
42. Austin
43. Glasgow
44. Busan
45. Kuala Lumpur
46. Cairo
47. Rio de Janeiro (TIE)
48. Sao Paulo (TIE)
49. Brisbane
50. Pune

Continuation, cant stop

51. Manchester
52. Shenzhen
53. Bristol
54. Portland
55. Mexico City
56. Montreal
57. Buenos Aires
58. Panama City
59. Haifa
60. Hyderabad
61. Lyon
62. Las Vegas
63. Atlanta
64. Ho Chi Minh City
65. Liverpool
66. Marseilles
67. Munich
68. Antalya
69. Detroit
70. Tampa
71. (maybe) Phoenix

** Dallas
** Houston
** Los Angeles

^^ All three special cases for me. Unranked because I don't want to put them low but it's hard fitting them into the 30. I admire all three, truly do. So they get to be the special ones.

After this point, I lose "favorable" impression of a place. That will have to do.

I'd like to see others compile a list of their own, it'll say a lot towards an individuals personal preference.

Am I seeing wrong or is Paris legitimately not on that long list of yours? What gives, how bad of an experience could you possibly have had there for it to be omitted when the likes of Marsialles is on there?

Another thing, you're not very fond of Latin America are you? No Baltimore or Philly either?

To visit, it's cool. I've often thought of Rio de Janeiro & Hong Kong as the two most beautiful cities on the planet for both urban + natural setting standards. Rio de Janeiro at least spikes some interest.

However, overall no. I'm not big into the deep inner areas of the Middle East or Latin America. Anywhere is worth a visit at least once but the cultural differences for me are too "out there".

It's there. Lovely city, great city even. I'm just not numbering it.

No bad experiences in Paris, I've only been once anyways. Had a good family vacation there but it was several years ago, I was like 12. Let's just say I'm not a fan of the government of France.

1. London: Culturally sophisticated, technologically astute and the global centroid of the financial world. Central London just oozes class. The centre of the known universe as far as I'm concerned.
2. Chicago: Beautiful skyline and architecture. A downtown that's busy, laidback and civil at the same time.
3. Hong Kong: A safe city that's VERY energetic and has a jaw-dropping skyline to boot.
4. Toronto: An up-and-comer in the financial world and cultural melting pot.
5. New York City: A metropolis that is crazy, fun, energetic with a great view from the Hudson at night.
6. Sydney: Great weather, great ambience.
7. San Francisco: A charming city with amazing tech industry centres.
8. Seoul: One of the most interesting of the east asian cities, IMO.
9. Tokyo: Bizarro cultural fads and politeness = fun.
10. Paris: Great architecture, great food and great women.

The rest I'm not too bothered about.
