Yes, as if the average American can whimsically afford veneer placement.

This is interesting. In most of the 90's, no one on the West Coast or in the SW had ever heard of baggy pants and hip-hop fashion. When a group I organized went to Ecuador, that's the first time anyone had seen baggy pants, baggy shirts, etc., and everyone thought it looked ridiculous. I wonder if those exchange students came mostly from NYC or the East Coast...?

I don't know how there can be an American look. Those with Scandinavian heritage look Swedish or Norwegian. Those with Dutch heritage look Dutch. Those with British heritage will look Brit (which isn't a generic look in itself, there's significant variation in Britain). Those with Italian heritage will look Italian. Perhaps it's those with widely mixed heritage that people are thinking of as "American"?

A couple of years ago I asked someone who'd been to Paris recently about the Americans wearing sports wear stereotype. He said that Eddie Bauer and other American outdoor-wear companies were very popular in Paris at the time. He said Europeans were wearing that look a lot, and the old stereotypes no longer apply.

Oh so Black people are native to the British isles?

Don't start. Just don't, stop with that nonsense and face the truth.

White people are native, Black, mixed race, Indian, Pakistan are all immigrant groups.

Really! So just how many generations does a family have to be in a country before they become a 'native'? 2, 5, 100? Or in your opinion is it only down to the colour of ones skin that really counts!!? What about the countless peoples that have settled here throughout history, does an Englishman with Viking, Roman or Norman ancestry count as a native!? My kids have African ancestry (on their mothers side), they are black, their mother and grandparents were all born in the UK so they are VERY much native Britain's and quite frankly I am a little annoyed that you seem to think differently! In my family we all have very different skin tones and we are all British!

A few years back, I was on a cruise and there were quite a few Canadians on board and it was easy to spot them. Each one had on a tee shirt that proclaimed "I AM CANADIAN".
