It may be Scandinavian, but it involves I believe, the whole family gathering close together in a small area of the house, to be close to one another and share a greater sense of intimacy? Perhaps it's the name of the room they are gathering in?

Am I crazy? I can't find it online.

Thanks in advance.

English machine-translatiion of Swedish Wiki article for Gillestuga:

A recreation room is a room in the basement of a house used as a simple living. Gillestugan often not counted into boarean because of low ceilings and no or small windows. The word originates from the ancient Swedish Gilde tussock, ie a cottage where a guild holding meetings.

No. Thanks for trying. Sorry that's not it, but it's on the tip of my tongue and driving me nuts...LOL It may be not be a modern day custom, or it may be around a holiday, or involve a family meal? But could swear it has a Nordic sounding name to it. Perhaps related to Saunas? I thought I read about this practice and the article mentioned was sort of unique to this one area, and that was not something a visitor or outsider would ever encounter because it happened within the inner circle of the family, not with friends or relatives.

Is it more of a feeling and atmosphere rather than an actual specific even tor space? If so, maybe it's Hygge.
