I was within 30 meters of it last summer while visiting Croatia. It would have been cool to step foot into another country I haven't visited, although I was warned that there was the possibility of undiscovered landmines still in the area, so venturing off the road wasn't a good idea. I decided to take the advice of my driver.

Only Visit:

Egypt and United Arab Emirates

There might be a couple more Islamic countries I might like to visit, but I probably don't know they are Islamic. lol
What's wrong with Turkey in your eyes?

I like Turkey. Only been on holiday there four times, interesting places to visit. The ancient ruins in Ephesus are awe inspiring.

Tunisia I've visited five times. Only stayed in one area Port El Kantaoui near the town of Sousse. Kantaoui is just a tourist area of beach hotels. Sousse is a great place to visit. The ancient Medina there is full of locals going about their daily lives. Pavement coffee shops for great people watching. The Tunisian people are very dignified. and pleasant to talk to.

I plan on teaching in Oman once I get my Master's Degree in Education next year.
I will combine visit/live categories because I am semi-nomadic and don't have a home base. I move around.

1. Oman (mumtaaz!)
2. Indonesia
3. Qatar
4. Morocco
5. Tunisia
6. UAE
7. Tunisia
8. Egypt
9. Malaysia
10. Senegal

Interesting thread!

2nd time in Turkey just last week....still love it. Amazing country, at least in some areas. Istanbul is truly one of the greatest cities on earth no question.

I'm in Malaysia now which is pretty sweet too though it's not nearly as Muslim as most other "Muslim" countries, but the politics are definitely of that and there's a lot of mosques. I think it's around 60% muslim? Great country though on first impression after about 5 days.
