Anyways, this is not just for old people. Children don't want to go to a dusty museum, they want to go to a zoo or an aquarium. Also, I doubt they are going to demolish old historic sites or buildings in favor of Eurovegas...If they did, then yeah that would be bad.

In america there's too much of that, but I don't mind a bit here and there. Plus protestors aren't always the majority, many times people will protest a McDonalds but it will do a roaring trade. Notice how few McDonalds restaurants close due to lack of customers?

There's also Richard Pearse, from New Zealand: Richard Pearse - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Well he's still american, so it doesn' disprove my point. Anyway, I'm aware that technically others flew before the Wright's, but there were requirements stipulating how long the aircraft needed to be airborne. And yes, there were prototypes before that.

I think Spain probably the ideal location for such a development, and I wish them well with it. Saying that it's not really to my taste and I am not a big fan of Las Vegas, but a lot of people do like that kind of thing.

Anyway and being back of topic, this thread is for EuroVegas Madrid, which is much harmful for economy and society than huge children fun resorts, and affortunately this disproportionately huge project of gambling was canceled two days ago.
I havent looked at the proposal yet so I can't comment, but I'm sure it will boost the economy. I'm not big into gambling or casinos,, but the activities associated with the development could prove interesting.

I would hope you are kidding but I suspect not.

In terms of tourism Macau is vastly more gambling oriented than Las Vegas. LV takes less than half its tourist revenue from gambling. Half the Total revenue of Macau is gaming. And that is of the overall economy.

Macau is small and has little population. Las Vegas is actually a big city. Macau is running a gambling operation with more revenue than Las Vegas with 25% the population.

Guess who is fixated on gaming?

Adelson is a piece of work no doubt...but he saw Macau coming and climbed on. My suspicion is Spain could have used Sheldon...though Europe is probably better off without him.

of course, and it's not like they are building it over some historic building or national park or in a beautiful place.

Have you been to both Macau and Vegas? I have. I'm not talking about economy, but the place itself. Macau was there before the casinos and has far more culture to offer, Vegas was built especially as an entertainment gambling mecca by the mafia, the city followed. Big difference. Vegas is less than a hundred years old, colonial Macau half a millenium old.

Just give it up, like it or not the USA invented these thins before anyone else, people might've had ideas before but no one seemed to really make it happen.

People actually do want it, theres a reason why its all over Europe, we just have boring old men on here from Europe that still think children want to go to boring museums, no kids want to have fun they want to go to resorts, beaches, shopping, amusement parks. Its the truth. When kids want to have fun with there friends they don't go to museums. I personally love museums...
