Another big quirk I find is females freely referring to their female friends as girlfriends and males? OMG! "I'm going out to the bar with my boyfriends tonite!" or "I'm sleeping over at my boyfriend's house tonite! No, no, no!!! My buddies, my buddies!
I've been to Italy, and seen some quick kisses there, and hand holding as well. I have say I was a bit taken back there, one time, to see two men, facing each other, and holding hands!
I had a Mexican roommate, one time, when excited, would quickly give me a hug followed by "I love you!"

Yeah I don't get that. Why the need to specify the gender of your friends unless it's relevant?

I have never ever heard of a woman referring to her friends as men!!!
I have only ever nose-kissed my own mother eskimo style haha. As for siblings I used to kiss my sister up until she turned about 10 years of age and after that it was just weird.
Hugging isn't an issue though regardless of sex for me.

Body contacts are very cold and distant in Anglo/Germanic world. That probably why, by contrast, they picture latin cultures as either "romantic", "flirteous" or "hot-blooded".

And thats why i hate americans grouping us up.
