I've been to both and I prefer SF, but one thing - I don't think SF is all that expensive (well, from an Australian tourist's perspective).

I didn't really see why Sydney was so great when I went their. Besides the beach and that opera house landmark.

The city proper of Sydney is bigger than S.F but in terms of urban agglomeration the Bay area is far more expansive and populous.

S.F is a great city but how is it far better than Sydney? Sydney isn't some back water second rate city..

Careful with the Bay Area. It's really three metros sort of merged.

Oh absolutely I'm talking about the CSA of the Bay area... I don't think Sydney would have a CSA population equivalent to the Bay Area.
