You might get a clue from my user name. I lived in the US for 48 years before moving here. And I now visit for a month every year. Lived in 4 states. You must walk around with your eyes shut.

Nope. I just live where people are really active and love outdoor activities/sports, and they eat healthfully.

They are in the minority in the US. The rest eat high fat, high sugar rubbish. Type II diabetes is growing extremely fast, even in preschool kids. I guess you don't travel around the country so are not exposed to truth about obesity in the US.

Actually, an article just came out saying Type 2 diabetes is now on the wane among kids. All I said is I don't see much obesity in the states where I live and visit regularly, especially among age groups under 55 or 60. It's pretty well-known that most of the obesity clusters in the mid-western and southern states.

That's good. Maybe people are finally wising up as they watch people dropping like flies from heart attacks, strokes, etc caused by obesity.

I have a friend there who is obese and was told by her insurance company that if she got a health coach(?) to help her work on her weight that the price of her insurance would go down. But if she refused the price would go up. She was outraged, but I think that's a good idea. Healthcare costs are too outrageous over there as it is and self-induced illnesses cause by smoking or obesity is making it worse.

I have lived in the US my entire life and I rarely see obese people. It just depends on where you live. And if I do see obese people I notice them instantly because I'm not used to it.

Any Europeans want to trade citizenship papers with me, I'd love to live in Milan or Barcelona .

I don't know how anyone can live in the USA, and not notice the serious problem we have with obesity. Much of it is due to people just don't seem to care, or they can't afford more nutritious food items.

I don't think people are as quick to move to the USA any longer. I'm sure they have their reasons.

I said almost and also pointed out that there are regional differences in Canada.. An experience you have in Winnipeg is going to be different from an experience you would have in Vancouver or Toronto which are very far away from Winnipeg and also very different places.. Anyway - not sure what's so bad about Winnipeg - you've made a vague reference - something to do with it being flat.. You do realize Canada has extraordinary variation in Geography.. right?

Anyway, you're generalizing and projecting one bad experience in one small area to encompass an entire country that is massive and very different to its other parts. When one does this, it is usually dismissed by any rational thinking individual.

Everything is generally smaller in European countries, I think what INvincible meant was things like big open parking lots, lots of land in between stores, big grocery stores, big homes with a ton of land between them and big open roads.
