Ah, the miracle of American journalism. I can't find a single word in there about what they plan to spend the money on, except buzzwords like "infrastructure" and "capital investment". Does any of that mean "biomedical research", or is it just architecture to make the hospital seem more competitively prestigious?
"Spending on everything from land acquisition and building demolition to new parking facilities in downtown Rochester" doesn't sound to me like "biomedical research", or anything that will benefit anybody except the shareholders and their bottom line.
A few more examples? Americans are building cars only for their domestic market, in factories owned by foreign interests, while China produces more units than we do, in Chinese-owned plants..
Yes, you do know what I am getting at. China is developing an infrastructure and R&D capacity upon which they can build their economic base. Ford is looking to sell a few more units of what they are already producing.
China grows, with the US bragging about hanging on to her coattails. Is that the source of your optimism for America's glorious future?

So you don' think Ford is looking to be innovative in the auto sector? I would disagree. China is growing and Americam companies are gaining share in their country. That is good. I feel like you are selectively deciding which innovation you like and which you don't.

Lol, now you're just in denial.
you really think they're going to spend six billion dollars on a parking garage?
I would like to live in an EU country, such as Germany, France and def. Ireland because of english being spoken. When I first visited extended family in Germany in 94 I fell in love with it. The standard of living for the middle class and the quality of everything was impressive.
It's hard to hear my European relatives complain when they have 6 weeks of vacation. I will pass on southern Europe for economic reasons.
I see A LOT of Americans vehemently complaining about their country on C-D. Is there another nation you would rather live in?
I would like to stay here, but change things for the better (my way of doing things) and those that stayed would need to bend to my will or they can just love it or leave it.
