So really, there should be a human right to settle anywhere we want. Man created state which does not allow this.
We humans don't own this planet.

All people who lived at least 10 years in the absolute 1st World (GDP per capita of at least $30.000) without a criminal record should have the right to live anywhere in the world they want as long as they can speak English or the language of the country they want to move to.

I'm talking about people who lived at least 10 years in one of the next countries:
Canada
USA
Bermuda
Ireland
United Kingdom
Iceland
Norway
Denmark
Sweden
Finland
Netherlands
Belgium
Luxembourg
Germany
France
Switzerland
Austria
Spain
Italy
Singapore
Hong Kong
Taiwan
South Korea
Japan
Australia
New Zealand

This is about correct: each country has its own specific rules, though many countries share general common principals. Among the major industrialized countries, one major difference is ius solis vs ius sanguinis (look it up), but, again, there are many sets of rules under which to qualify.

I believe that somewhere in the UN Charter there is a provision that no one may be deprived of at least one citizenship and that marriage and family are also protected in some special way; in fact, in most countries you can obtain citizenship through marriage, sooner or later, regardless of economic condition. On the other hand, many countries also do offer residency and even citizenship based on monetary and investment criteria, some more or less stringent.

To be blunt, if you had enough money, you could probably buy a change in residency/citizenship laws if you had to, but my guess is that, if you had enough money, most, if not all, countries that you would want to move to probably already have rules for your case, you just have to fulfill all the requirements.

Finally, in my experience, your best bet is asking immigration officials in the target country, not diplomatic officials of the target country embassy or consulate outside the target country; residency and citizenship rules and regulations can change often and I have found that in-country officials are more up-to-date on the latest programs and rules.

Good Luck!

But you are not as citizen of the world, you are a citizen of a country.

I think if you can support yourself, why shouldn't you be able to? Just do a decent shot at integrating and who gives?

Countries: arbitrary, man-made, constantly changing customs and invisible borders

World: actual place

Qatar, UAE , Brunei and Kuwait have higher GDP.
Qater is only second to Luxemburg in term of per capita GDP.
By the way, Singapore is not a democracy at all and Singaore is heavily influenced by Islam. If you want to exclude middle east countries, you should also exclude Singapore.

Also, I don't see why people who live in the third world countries should be discriminated. A successful doctor in Shanghai is worse than an uneducated man on welfare in Mississippi? If per capita wealth is your major concern, why not give individuals who can earn at least $50,000 more freedom instead?

A question to those who believe (some?) people should have the right to live anywhere: Exactly which group of beaurocrats should have the power to dictate to the nations of the world what their immigration laws should be?

Do they have brothels, casino's and alcohol for everyone (incl. foreigners) in UAE, Qatar, Brunei and Kuwait?
