Our capitals (Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, etc) are no more or less racist than NYC, LA, Chicago...
Oh, the last time "racism in police" happened here was in 2004 (Redfern Riots). You guys had one just a few weeks ago and one again in 2012. Our one wasn't as half as bad since the cops didn't kill the Aboriginal (they chased him, he ran and impaled himself on a fence).
Quite a large number of Asian immigrants to the US are poor, probably more than Asian immigrants to Canada or Australia who are selected based on skills. In NYC, poverty rates among Chinese and Korean immigrants are quite high, but the second generation seems to assimilate quickly and ascend to middle-class status. Many Asian immigrants settle in their own communities, yet high poverty rates do not deter them from becoming successful. I can't necessarily say the same of Latino immigrants.
African Americans have access to affirmative action programs and such. Their lack of success shouldn't be blamed on greater American society.
True, I'm from California and in every major city in California, you have Asian populations living in the ghettos and contributing to the crime rate. From Oakland to San Francisco to Stockton to Fresno to Long Beach, you have tons of Asian American poverty and violent Asian American gangs. This is because California is the most open entry point for Asian immigrants from the third world.
The reason why blacks and Latinos in America are poorer as a whole than Asians is because Asian immigration to America can be extremely controlled. All of the dirt poor Asians who assembled your iphone and sewed together all of your clothes aren't inherently smarter or more successful than any one else living in the third world. The only thing separating Central America from the U.S. is an imaginary border. American businesses are taking advantage of the cheap labor offered by Central American immigrants. In order for Asians to come to America across thousands of miles of Pacific Ocean, they need in-demand skills and money saved up to move over here in the first place. Koreans pool their money together and fill a niche by opening businesses in predominantly black inner city areas where white owned businesses and corporate America refuse to set up shop. Poorer Asians in America tend to be Southeast Asians from war-torn countries (i.e. Vietnam, Cambodia) who come here as refugees and bring their culture of violence and poverty with them. Other Asian groups like you said come to America poor and live in lower-income communities in California before moving out of the city for a better life.
But blacks and Native Americans are native populations that are strongly oppressed. Blacks and whites in America are stuck with each other. Blacks and whites have a long rocky history with each other. For the most part, blacks and whites don't get along in America. But whites control America and institutional racism against blacks here is rampant. It is plain harder for a black man to get a job than a white man. This is a well-documented fact.
Tons of drugs are imported into economically blasted black inner city areas as a means of population control. Although whites are more likely to use and sell drugs, blacks have paid the highest price of the futile "war on drugs". Incarceration of black males on non-violent drug charges has caused blacks to dominate the American prison population. Today, there are more black men in prison than there were black men in slavery in 1850. If that isn't blatant oppression, I don't know what it is.
And blacks have come a long way even in the past 20 years. Blacks are suburbanizing at a very high rate and leaving the inner city for the suburbs by gaining education and useful job skills.

That derogatory sweeping generalization of over 110 million people- 5X the population of your entire country- speaks more about your cluelessness & naivete than anything else.
Again, Europe is just a region. NOT a race. Southern Europeans are more culturally and anthropologically similar to Middle Eastern people rather than to say, Germans or Swedes. And that's because both areas are situated in the Mediterranean where trading and such happened.

You keep using the same examples of American cops shooting Black Americans, seems quite fallacious to continue bringing it up since I don't defend the actions of the police.
I was responding the other poster who suggested that racism is essentially why American society has the problem in the Black community. If the UK has a similar problem, is racism also to blame...

There is a rot in the system, but not to the extent as the US, with it's painful history and legacy of prejudice, cycles of poverty and accordant crime.
For example in the UK Caribbean men do badly at school, are lower paid than their White counterparts and poverty goes from one generation to the next, with much higher crime figures. Until a few years ago they were multiple times the average to die in police custody, alongside the Irish. -Basically the same story as the Black American male - weathering historical racism, and trapped in poverty and prejudice.
However the Caribbean female is entirely different, earning more than her White counterpart. Likewise Africans (who now make up the majority of the UK's sizeable Black population) are now doing inordinately well, despite initial poverty back in the Nineties. West Africans (read: Nigerians, one of the biggest ethnic communities in the country and the biggest in London) now outperform all other races at school, are more likely to go onto university, and most likely to get a high paying job. All in all Black women now make up the second highest earning social strata in the country, just behind South Asian men.
In short, there is prejudice, but it's short lived, and is an entirely different beast to the US version, which suffers it's painful history. Another thing - despite what seems like prejudice slanted toward the Caribs, they are actually endangered despite their huge numbers as so many of them intermarry. The majority of Caribbean men do so, and one third of women. Mixed race Black children for example outnumber Black children 2 to 1 nowadays.
Nigerian immigrants to the US also perform very well, earning more than White counterparts. If racism was such an ingrained problem here, you would think it would keep them back too.
