I enjoyed the stretch along the California coast from Los Angeles to San Francisco. But there are many other scenic ones I haven't been to, such as in southern Europe and Norway.

In France, maontains and see scenery:
1. The coast from Nice to Menton, where the Alps meet the mediterranean
2. Corsica, which is basically a mountain in the middle of the sea
3. The Calanques de Cassis/Marseille area
4. The Vermeille Coast (french Catalunia)
5. Basque country coast
I once knew a seaman who told me about "landing" at Cape Horn. The sea has eroded the rocky shore, so that there are "horns" projecting out over the ocean. When the surf was fairly moderate, they could leave the ship in a rowboat, and go right under the horns, and as the boat would rise and fall with the waves, reach up and grab one of the horms, and let the rowboat fall away beneath them, while they hung from the horn, and then let go and drop back into the boat when the next wave lifted it back up.
It is the only way that a person can actually be "on land" at the southern-most tip if the continent. The credibioity of the story, of course, has to be regarded in the context of any reports by men who have been to sea, but there it is, the way I heard it.
