"Most people" = most people in the US. That's largely because the US entertainment industry is monolithic, and tends to block out film and music from other parts of the world. Southern African, Congolese and West African music are popular in England and France, especially (where some of the most well-known groups live), but also in Russia to some extent, and parts of Latin America. Just because you haven't heard of it doesn't mean others haven't.
Fela Kuti and Afrobeat(which started in Nigeria) is popular among music buffs as well(there's American bands that play modern Afrobeat like Antibalas from New York) and it was pretty influential to bands like the Talking Heads in the 80s and well as some American funk bands(and Kuti was influenced himself by James Brown)...

Does anyone get what I am saying? I guess not, time for me to explain AGAIN...What I am saying is that African music is not popular on this forum therefore I put countries music that people would actually know, sorry to burst your bubble

How did you assess what's popular on this forum? Does the music forum have a lot of people posting Swedish bands? They do get African music posted. Did you include Nepal on the list because of the firestorm of interest in Nepalese bands on the music forum?

USA no question...even if the UK had the biggest bands, they played music that largely originated in the good 'ol USA. Most pop music has it's origins in America. How many genres did the UK invent?

I would just like to say music changes and develops across time, it always has, it still is nobody invented it, if you think music originated in any particular country you are wrong every style of music has origins from way before the world map looks as it does now, its because of the world influence music is as it is now.

Well most genres did really originate in the US, even if they had older influences (e.g. jazz being a fusion of African and European influences still developed in the social/artistic climate of America).

I know what you're saying but does what the Beatles did mean that modern pop music is English (developed in the social/artistic climate of the NW of England)? No because like the American bands they admired before them they just took music they knew and changed it their own way.

I don't know, I'd hardly call what the Beatles did (especially their early Merseybeat stuff, and their many rock'n'roll covers) equivalent to the revolution that jazz was.

I'm done with this conversation, I will not debate with you for the next 50 pages about why I didn't include Nepal and African countries on my list. It really isn't that hard to understand.

But you did include Nepal. That's the mystery of the whole thing.
Oh well. :-/
