Shoes on/off at home?

I take my shoes off but I never wear slippers. My floors are never that cold.

Seriously, doesn't everyone take their shoes off inside? I've never known anyone - regardless of ethnicity or race - who would consider wearing one's outdoor shoes indoors an acceptable practice (except teenagers, of course, but that's a whole other story. They're barely civilized ) .
