Nothing that bad in France compare to USA (i'm only talking about first world countries)

I do, however, agree that Scandinavian countries are a model for the world in many aspects of their society, including the prison system and prisoner treatment. Prisoner treatment is a good indication of how civilized and egalitarian a society is. But I sometimes wonder if that model could truly be a success in other countries, as everything from the mentality of the people to the scale of the society differs so drastically. Scandinavians should be glad their culture is what it is because it fosters such a low level of corruption in all levels of society and a high degree of egalitarianism.

Not a lot of diversity in many Scandinavian countries. Having a relatively homogenous somewhat socialist population can take care of a few ills.

Not a bad idea,if it can prevent some people from committing crimes the next time, they'll have nightmares thinking about the scortching heat,a good way to adress the crime issue.
It is also an environmentally-friendly Prison ? lol !! Using heat to fight crime.

That's true. But I think greater economic equality is a bigger factor.

Why not just execute everyone who commits a crime? That'll reduce crime.

As for me, I'd rather live in a country that treats people humanely.

30% of all inmates in Norwegian prisons are foreigners (mostly Eastern Europeans).

Few countries do exactly that, the US,Saudia Arabia,China have death penalty sentences and it does reduce crime.

What's your definition of "humanely" ?

Heat is a natural thing, before AC,people in warm countries lived a normal life, after a while people adapt to the heat.
