Reporters Without Borders
The leaders are mostly Germanic countries; Cuba, Vietnam and China among the worst offenders.

I never had the police on my door step, i'm sure most in the UK can say the same.
Since when was it okay to threaten to kill the president?

What warrant(s) Namibia's high ranking? The result of the ranking is rather... unexpected.

The Snowden debacle will have affected our ranking I suspect. Yet another downside of our close-knit relationship with the Americans (on a political level).

Well, whatever, we do well on economic freedom, so scroo you all.

since the first ammendment. since when was it a crime to be passive aggressive ? its not far from what would happen if someone had "disrespected" saddam in a saddam-run iraq.

the UK is along the same line. a footballer collapsed in a football game and some idiot on twitter made a few racist comment. i mean, yes, they were vile and disgusting and there is NO place for racism, but seriously 56 days in jail for saying what's on your mind ? regardless of who's feelings you hurt.. that is NO crime. in fact its nothing but air.

not really. USA has dropped from 5th in 2008, to 12th in 2014.. most notably behind Chile, Mauritius, Estonia, Ireland, Denmark.. even Denmark. there is more capitalism in Denmark than in the US.
