First awarded in 1995,[1] the title Grand Master of Memory is awarded to people who are able to successfully negotiate the following three memory feats:
Memorise 1,000 random digits in an hour
Memorise the order of 10 decks of cards in an hour
Memorise the order of one deck of cards in under two minutes.

It is amazing to see China has produced 76 of them since 2007!
England 14 (since 1995).
Germany 12 (since 1999).

I've heard that there is a Korean guy who regularly wins Scrabble tournaments, and he cannot speak, read or write a word of English. He has just memorized all the acceptable letter combinations in the Scrabble dictionary.

There are actually three different levels of Master of Memory now:

Edit: it won't allow me to link, but you can copy/paste this link to read more about it:

What used to be "Grand Master" is now called International Master of Memory. Grand Master is higher. International Grand Master is the highest level.

People remembering pleasant, optimistic, and happy memories very well is extremely essential, and a basic element of first order priority for satisfying everyone’s lives.

What original post said about memory is way too frivolous, and trivial form of memory. Why would anyone want to remember thousands of arbitrary digits, and configuration of a card desk? What a ridiculous waste of memory for poisoning people’s minds.

How about remembering real memories in people’s lives, in travel vacations, main areas where someone resides in life, tons of relevant experience happening, hobbies, interests, favorite area destinations, main events throughout a lifetime, ultimate entertainment variety, minimal-non existent corruption occurrences, Global Peace, optimistic uplifting feelings of soothing invigorating rejuvenation, and a wealth of favorite memories people collect over time. Real memories actually matter in Real Life In Every Individual of Society’s Life.
