I am researching for a school project about what people consider very exciting world cities or maybe major cities to start off with. I would love to hear a couple of suggestions and reasons why exactly these cities are special in your eyes. Besides the obvious NYC, LA, London, Buenos Aires, Hongkong etc... I'd love to hear about a couple of other maybe unique cities "from your perspective" and the reason why you would categorize as such. The ideas can be general, so any opinion is welcome......
Besides the obvious of NYC, London, Hong Kong, Paris, etc. I would add Tel Aviv to the list as it is like a small Manhattan (which is the part of NYC that foreigners think of when they picture NYC) in a warmer climate and by the beach.
Bogotá, Colombia - Mixture of high rises and spanish architecture, the food is great too
Mumbai, India - I have a love/hate relationship with Mumbai, but it really is an interesting place to be. One of the largest cities in the world and such low low amount of westernization.

Thanks for the reply. World cities that I am looking for right now should have more or less Western living standards like the mentioned NYC. Bogota I have been to once, that really seems quite a few years back in development compared to what we can find in first world cities.......
Rio De Janerio in Brazil is a very cool place, Cairo, and Singapore
thanks I agree Rio is a cool city, but in my opinion for short term visits only. What are some other exciting major cities maybe more in the Eurozone......?
Guys I am looking for some very livable first world cities (if possible in continental Europe or Asia)...please share your thoughts about the most exciting cities you've visited or lived in......thanks
Ok thanks, Miami and Sydney are good cities but maybe there is even better ones ? suggestions....?
