Is your water metered? If so what do you pay?

If you've lived in both situations, did having it metered change the way you use water?

Yes. About $50-70 a month for a one-bedroom apartment.

I've always been conscious of the need not to waste water, but I have made more of an effort to conserve lately, because there's a drought on.

Ours is metered (very common in Australia) we pay about $100 per month to supply 4 adults, and 4 bathrooms.

Its metered, but a first 1,496 gal is included in a minimum charge regardless if I use it or not.
The rates vary. See here:

Should add that in the huge majority of cases that is how it also works in Australia. The properties owner pays the water bills.

I know that in Israel it is metered and it used to be combined with the city property tax bill. But recently an Israeli told me that the local government has finally separated the metered water bills from the city property tax bills.
