Default Austria

I will be passing through Austria for a couple days next year. Vienna is definately on my list but I also want to see some of the beautiful countryside and views of the alps. I will have a Eurail pass and coming from Italy so I am asking for suggestions of great vews and hiking in the alps that I could get to by train. And only for a day trip (no overnight hiking).

So if you have any suggestions please post them.
