I guess it depends on where you grew up and what you are used to. For me, the cuisines I listed mostly provide some top notch comfort food I really crave once in a while.

Upper Austrian dumplings, Austrian/Czech/Bavarian pork knuckle, Polish Pierogi, Slovakian "Brimsennockerl" (eng?) or Hungarian/Austrian Parpikás/Gulasch may not look as appealing as Italian or whatnot, but damn it's delicious

What's supposed to be so uncool about Central/Eastern European food? I eat potatoes and sausage and heavy foods often because they fill you up and taste earthy. Also, borscht is one of few soups I look forward to.
