Arrogant and Snobbish people are everywhere, all societies have dumb people that try to put down other people so that they can feel better.
I dont know the U.S is nationalistic only when we are going to war or something really bad has happened. Usually we never think ourselves as one whole unit. In competitive international games we don't even have a uniform chant or song, all we say is " USA, USA, USA" like a punch of wannabe hardcore fans. We tend to support the person that we liked instead of the nation that they are from. Only the Olympics are we united.
Nationalistic:
Argentina
France
Mexico
Japan
Russia
Brazil
and a whole bunch of other countries
All of those countries have more than a healthy dose of national pride and have no issues letting everyone else know it. USA thinks it's the only free country in the world, or thinks it's the most free, neither of which is true. Also thinks it's the best country on earth. Russia thinks it's so bad-ass the the world fears it, we don't. Russia also seems to project a superiority complex. UK, can come across as very snooty and often seem to look down on many others. At least that's the impression they give. France, seems to think it's the holy grail of western society. While it is culturally prominent, there are others out there. China, perhaps the least of these but seems to project a certain national pride attitude which borders on arrogance.
these are just my not too thought out opinions based on personal observation so if anyone is offended, GET A GRIP!

Mexicans tend to have a lot of pride in their culture but I don't know if they belong on this list as they don't seem overly nationalistic and certainly not arrogant or snooty at all.
I think we Americans frequently don't realize how we come across. Internally yes, we don't really see ourselves as a whole frequently. However "God bless America", "Land of the free, home of the brave", and the fact that we seem to almost worship our flag can make us look a bit full of ourselves.
Everybody mentioned the very important countries like USA UK France Russia China, so to add to the topic I will mention a somewhat less known country like Thailand.
Actually the majority of Asian countries are very nationalistic, but I have some experience only with Thailand.
Thai people think Thai culture is superior to all other in terms of kindness, selfishness, and respect and they think Thailand is the best country on Earth. They think that's why millions of people are eager to visit their country each and every year and that's why tens of thousands foreigners, who mostly come from richer nations, still wants to settle there.
Thai have an immense proud in their nation and a feeling of "exceptionalism" which makes them think that no foreigner can grasp the "thai way" of doing things.
The well-off Thais are also arrogant and snobbish, both toward Thai lower-class folks and farang ( = western foreigner ) in general.
Immigration and employment laws reflect that spirit. Even spouses of Thai citizens have no right to reside in the Kingdom if they don't meet specific economic criteria, and many jobs are downright forbidden to foreigners.
Getting a Thai citizenship, as you might imagine after reading these bits of info, is next to impossible.
Brits can be snobbish, maybe nationalistic to a certain degree. We have no issues putting ourselves down, but sometimes have this attitude that we're superior to everywhere else - but this is mostly apparent in the elderly population - especially those who were children or older in WW2 and think the Germans are evil and nasty, or the French are weak.
