Regarding the Russian people.......They are a fine people, kind, hard-working, intelligent and love life. But they live in such a paternalistic state where if the 'powers' said 2+2=5 they would be stunned but would do their best to see it worked out. The bad thing about that is that they don't even know that they're being taken advantage of in their rush to please and align themselves with 'right' thinking. They ultimately in that frame reference teach themslves to make things always 'add up' even if the math isn't just right.

Interesting to read what people think and discuss different views but in the end I could care less what others think as long as they are civil. Everyone has an opinion and they are all different I really don't think that Russians give a F**k what Americans or Europeans think nor do Americans honestly give a F**k what Russians thint but it's interesting reading the opinions.

Don't worry guys, most Americans know that the media in our country is spinning things for their agendas, that the history written in our books is false, and that the United States is NOT the greatest country on Earth or the only country that allows freedom. Unfortunately, as citizens we have no power. We vote one way, the government finds a way to skewer the vote the other way, ignore us entirely, or drags their feet to implement changes. Changes that should be implemented within a year would often take a decade, by then, the President a decade from now would undo anything that we requested.

One step forward, two step backwards. This country is declining like Rome did in the past, we need a revamp of our laws and regulations, sadly if anyone ever recommends that, we're put in jail for un-patriotism or called crazy. Only other option is to escape, but even the United States are making it harder to flee the country. If you want to denounce your citizenship (I hope you're a citizen of another country first), not only do you have to provide documents, go through a lengthy interview process as to why and a mental health evaluation to prove you aren't insane, but you now have to pay the government all taxes you owe up front including a one-time fee of $3,000+ just so you can have the right to tear up your US Passport and say "Goodbye!".

Because the process is so complicated, a lot of people do not denounce their citizenship and instead put up with being expats and doing double the paperwork come tax time, plus wasting thousands of dollars to the embassies so that the IRS can get their tax information in time to the US government (rolls eyes). I don't think I have ever known of a country (that's not currently at war) where it's difficult to LEAVE or even accuses their own citizens of potentially being insane to choose to denounce citizenship. Seriously?

As for what I personally think of Russia, fifteen years ago I hated all Russians and greatly disliked all Germans for their role in Communism and the Holocaust, as well as lack of action during the Armenian genocides. Now I got over the 'monstrous' history, because now I realize that my country isn't that much better. That, on the other side of the spectrum, the United States is just as much a "monster" as Germany and Hitler were to the Jews.

I currently have no opinion on Russia and its people, just the wish that the animosity and Cold War between the two countries would be over already so we can focus on the real issues: diseases, famine, environments, and humanity as a whole.

Most Russian people only read/hear STATE TV thus only read and hear Putin's Cr$p..but as to Russia in general..It's all on Putin's crazy OLD school attitude he had long before reforms like back 35 years ago......Don't blame the populous..Blame the leadership and controller of informations....and BTW who controls what the military does to bordering country.....

I have always disliked blaming a group for what the high profile examples say and do..Isis is just one example of this..as for some ALL Muslims are to blame when only a fraction of Muslims believe in WHAT THEY DO!!

SO why Blame Russian people for Putin's actions???

I don't have strong opinions on Russians. Don't really care about Russia or Ukraine. Sounds much more foreign than most of Europe and I have an image of the locals because unfriendly and the authorities corrupt and nasty.

Re: 'Ridiculous'

Dobroye utro!

"The formula 'two and two make five' is not without its attractions"
Fyodor Dostoevski....

Really it behooves all of us in the world to be careful about attributing nonsense to a man condemned to death and 'saved' from oblivion in the last minute. With men like that you know they cannot ever ever lie. And they always will have something very important to say. I thank Russia for making him.
