Not only mid 17th century

Zhou Dynasty (1046 BC-256 BC) - 800+ years

Han Dynasty (206 BC-220 AD) - 400+ years

Song dynasty (960-1279) - 319 years

Ming dynasty (1368-1644) - 276 years

Jin Dynasty (265-420) - 155 years

Sui dynasty (581-618) - 37 years
Your second map does the same thing--how does it go about making your point? The highlighted area still doesn't include the Yellow River and the borders of China in that map seem like they're the same, but just with a zoomed in view. So none of the issues you had or the points you made seem to be addressed.

So which one of those years do you think is supposed to the more appropriate demarcation point? Do you think it makes sense to restrict all the world's countries by that year or are you making a special exception for China for some reason?

No, not all countries have a long history like China.
I showed you that Tibet and Uyghurstan were not part of China in 2000 out of the last 3000 years.

Because a lot of countries and civilizations have been almost completely extirpated. So does China's fault lay in not completely exterminating those cultures? Is that what it boils down to?

If we go by your logic, then North Korea, Mongolia, eastern Siberia and northern Vietnam are part of China because, at one time or another, they once were. Or China is part of Mongolia because the Mongolian Empire once ruled over China as well as the rest of Asia except India and the southeastern portion of the continent as well as the eastern half of Europe.
