WOW more Taiwanese visit the Netherlands than the UK and Germany
Perhaps Amsterdam is one of the only place in Europe with a direct flight to Taipei? I noticed many Taiwanese tourist groups around certain time whenever I change at Schiphol.

Well there are more(to Paris,Vienna, and probably Frankfurt and London) but I gather Amsterdam-Taipei is the most frequent route.
^I think there were some political issues.Chinese government once threatened not to grant traffic rights to many major airlines(Air France,Japan Airlines,KLM etc) out there for their proposed services to China if those airlines arranged flights to Taiwan.
I guess that's no longer the case now though.
Anyway too few people here travel to Scandinavia,it's way too pricey for us over there lol.
Besides, you can always rely on Bangkok for layovers.
USA
Mexico
Cuba
United Kingdom
Dominican Republic
France
Italy
Germany
China
Spain
I am completely surprised by China, and I thought Jamaica (#11) would have been near the top of the list. Everyone goes to the Caribbean. I was also surprised by Spain, since I thought it would be the mostly poorly understood country in Western Europe by Canadians.
I'm not surprised by China ( if they include Hong Kong ). It might be different out here on the west coast, but I know many who travel to Hong Kong and even other parts of China. Shanghai seems popular as well.

Unfortunately for the majority from here don't travel far beyond Bangkok/Thailand when they make their way to Asia.
This site breaks down those numbers between those who are going for a holiday, those who are principally going to see friends and family who live in a foreign country (like Chinese/Australians returning to china to see family in China etc ), and those going on a short term trip for business purposes.

The Top 10 destinations for people who's main purpose was to have a holiday were
1) Indonesia 669,000
2) USA 556,000
3) NZ 479,000
4) Thailand 452,000
5) UK 213,000
6) Fiji 210,000
7) Singapore158,000
8) Vietnam 154,000
9) China 133,000
10)Malaysia 125,000
Once again the UK is the only Euro Country in the top 10. Italy comes in 11th and Hong Kong 12th. Yes I know I am not supposed to include the UK Davy.
I've thought for a while now that Australians seem a lot less Euro-focussed or Euro-aware than Canadians and possibly Americans as well. Perhaps we are? And with the average European immigrant being around 60 I wonder how long it will be before we totally lose any sense of connection with the Old World.
