You've never lived in a so-called McMansion, and will never be able to afford it. It's easy to say something is hell when you have no clue what living there entails. I sense some deep-seated feelings of angst-ridden inferiority coming from you.
Oh, really? The point came through in the end! You have no clue what life of cuisine is here. You only have your stereotypes.
Seriously? Decent suburbs? They all look like the ghetto. Canadian suburbs are far superior.
Seriously, some of these pictures of Nordic suburbs are just laughable compared to Canadian suburbs. And I don't mean that as an insult. If those homes and suburbs were in Waikiki Beach, Honolulu, Hawaii it would make sense, but they are in crappy weather Scandinavia with tiny yards, no space, tiny roads, ugly homes. And no doubt they are the same prices as homes in Hawaii. That's just depressing.
A little harsh, some of the houses look pretty but they are very small, have no garages, and have narrow streets. nothing like a suburb in Canada
Invicible's view was completely different. The homes seem a bit smaller in the Scandivian one, but otherwise they look like nicer neighborhoods. There's not much landscaping in the Winnipeg view there, either. Seems a bit blank and bland to me.
I wasn't really focused on finding the most pretty neighborhood just trying to prove that Canadian suburbs have larger yards, larger homes and are more open. Don't you agree that is true?
PS, those endless suburbs of mcmansions is my personal view of hell. Filled with sterile, neat, churchgoing mindless bots. Yuck!
Not everyone agrees and many love life in the suburbs, but you also do have more urban areas all over Canada.
That is what i like, your choices between suburban living and urban living are more extreme compared to nordic cities.
now question is are Canadian cities more urban than Nordic cities?

Looks like an European city. Livable. That might come as a surprise to you. You Americans say you're from Atlanta, Chicago, LA, Baltimore or something, but you live 30 miles from the city, in a totally different community. Because the city centres are "unlivable", filled with criminals and poor people.
The situation is not the same here. The centre areas are the most valuable.

Or we just don't like living in environment where we are packed like sardines, we like opening the window and hearing birds chirping and the sound of the trees flowing in the wind without the sound of squeaky breaks and car horns.

These still don't look as appealing. Very old structures, probably are very drafty in winter, the roads are narrow, probably hard to pass after a snow storm.
The second view looks like a lower middle class neighborhood in Canada/US. Yet it probably has prices of Beverly Hills or Hawaii.
